Not all our Listings in Kitsap County can be Perfect

This short sale at 8397 McBreen in Port Orchard is the definition of "diamond in the rough." On a street occupied with million dollar homes, this abused 3 bedroom and 2.5 bath home is in need of a new caring owner.

Even in it's current state, it's listing price at $219,000 is a steal!

After hours of scrubbing, a large kitchen was revealed. Under all the beer cans and trash, tile counters and oak cabinets were found. With a little more work, any new owner would be proud to host a dinner party here.

Now that the clutter has been moved, the living room is much brighter. The large window looks out onto part of the nearly 2.5 acres the home sits on.

The three car garage used to house miniature ponies. Bring your shovel and boots because much of the floor is caked with dirt and gunk.

Although there is a lot of work to be done, it's the perfect home for someone looking for instant equity. A little scrubbing will pay off in the end.

If you would like to schedule a showing to see this "diamond in the rough" or would like to just learn more about this property, please contact Karin Kay Properties at 360-479-7653 or send an email to officemanagerkkp@yahoo.com.

Get out and enjoy Winter within 70 miles of Kitsap County

Since I tend to suffer from "cabin fever" this time of year, I try to get out into the fresh air as often as I can. Kitsap County doesn't provide a lot of opportunities for winter recreation so I find myself leaving the peninsula often. This past weekend we took a trip to Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park.

You could have not asked for a nicer day.  It was warm and there was no wind which is a rarity in that part of the park.  We had a breathtaking 360 degree view from the top of Hurricane Hill.  Besides the views of the peaks, we could see far north into Canada and almost to the ocean.  Add it to your to-do list if you are into snowshoeing or cross country skiing.

Sounds like we might be experiencing some snow in the Kitsap area this weekend.  Let's hope it's not going to be enough to snowshoe in!
