Get out and enjoy Winter within 70 miles of Kitsap County
Since I tend to suffer from "cabin fever" this time of year, I try to get out into the fresh air as often as I can. Kitsap County doesn't provide a lot of opportunities for winter recreation so I find myself leaving the peninsula often. This past weekend we took a trip to Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park.
You could have not asked for a nicer day. It was warm and there was no wind which is a rarity in that part of the park. We had a breathtaking 360 degree view from the top of Hurricane Hill. Besides the views of the peaks, we could see far north into Canada and almost to the ocean. Add it to your to-do list if you are into snowshoeing or cross country skiing.
Sounds like we might be experiencing some snow in the Kitsap area this weekend. Let's hope it's not going to be enough to snowshoe in!
